Partial Payment / Partial COD Policy

At Akira The Couture, most of our outfits are made-to-order, customized, or prepared specifically for each customer. Partial COD is offered as a convenience to allow customers to confirm their order with a partial upfront payment and pay the remaining balance at the time of delivery.

By choosing Partial COD and making the initial payment, you agree to the following terms:

1. Partial Payment Is Non-Refundable

Once the Partial COD payment has been successfully made and the order is confirmed, the amount paid is non-refundable.

This applies if the customer later:

• Changes their mind or wishes to cancel the order.

• Refuses to accept the parcel.

• Is unavailable or unwilling to make the remaining payment.

• No longer requires the outfit.

• Provides incorrect or incomplete delivery information resulting in non-delivery.

This is subject to any refund or remedy that may be required under applicable law.

2. Why the Partial Payment Is Non-Refundable

The Partial COD amount is not merely a COD or shipping charge.

Once your order is confirmed, Akira begins committing resources specifically towards your order, including:

• Reserving production capacity for your outfit.

• Procuring or allocating fabrics, materials and embellishments.

• Scheduling tailoring, handwork and customization.

• Prioritising your order within our production workflow.

• Preparing the garment according to the specifications selected or provided by you.

The Partial COD payment therefore represents your commitment towards the order, customization, production priority and the trust involved in beginning a made-to-order garment specifically for you.

3. Refusal of Delivery

Once an order placed through Partial COD has been produced and dispatched, the customer is expected to accept the shipment and pay the remaining balance.

If the customer refuses the parcel or intentionally does not accept delivery, the parcel will not be handed over to the customer and the Partial COD amount already paid will not be refunded.

4. Remaining Payment

The remaining order value must be paid as required for successful delivery of the order.

If the remaining amount continues to remain unpaid for more than 12 days from the date of dispatch, Akira reserves the right to cancel and close the order.

In such cases:

• The garment will no longer be reserved for the customer.

• The order will be treated as cancelled due to non-payment.

• The Partial COD amount already paid will not be refunded.

5. Customized & Made-to-Order Products

Because our products may be made, altered, embellished or customized specifically for individual customers, an order cannot be cancelled simply because the customer changes their mind after production has begun.

Customers are therefore requested to carefully review their:

Design, size, measurements, colour, customization instructions, delivery details and order value

before completing the Partial COD payment.

6. Customer Acceptance

By selecting Partial COD, completing the initial payment and confirming the order, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to this Partial Payment / Partial COD Policy.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that a customer may have where they cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.

Please refer the product page for estimated shipping and delivery timelines for both domestic and international orders.

Our general dispatch time frame is 12-20 business days. You will receive your order within this time frame. You will be notified through a mail as soon as we ship your order from our end along with all the tracking details!

Some products are made on order only, where we can take up to 20 business days.

For express Shipping it takes 5-7 working days to dispatch!

If you have placed an order with multiple items, please note that your items may arrive in multiple shipments. The estimated delivery times are indicative, and, on some occasions, there might be some unavoidable delays beyond our control. We will keep you informed in case of any delays.

For International Shipping it can take 20-25 Business days to reach you!
